Chloe Gansen is an affiliate researcher in the Department of Life Sciences Communication and a Rita Allen Foundation Civic Science Fellow at the Morgridge Institute for Research. Broadly, she is interested in the politicization of health and science — including its drivers (both circumstantial and strategic dynamics), its influence on the public, and its downstream consequences for society. Her recent research interests encompass strategies for mitigating the negative effects of politicization and political polarization on health- and science-related perceptions and individuals’ willingness to engage with recommendations, as well as on effectively communicating with the public about health and science topics despite these challenges. Chloe holds a Ph.D. in Mass Communication from the University of Minnesota and previously worked in applied health communication roles at the National Cancer Institute and Seattle Children’s Hospital. You can find a list of her publications on Google Scholar.
